The Texas Medieval Association announces its thirty-second annual conference for October 21-22, 2022, hosted by the University of Dallas and held over Zoom. The Plenary Speaker is Helen Nicholson, Professor in Medieval History, Cardiff University. Professor Nicholson is well known for her research into the military religious orders and the Crusades, and her books include Chronicle of the Third Crusade (1997), Medieval Warfare (2003), and the Knights Hospitaller (2001).
The theme of this year’s conference is the effect of human evil on medieval religious organizations and their members, but, as usual with every TEMA meeting, all topics associated with the Middle Ages are welcome. Those wishing to give a paper should submit a title and abstract no later than September 1, 2022 to Dr. Donald Kagay ([email protected]; [email protected]) or Dr. Kelly Gibson ([email protected]). Panel proposals are also welcome. Those wishing to propose a panel should submit a session title, along with the paper titles, abstracts, and speakers.
