Transcribeestoria is a pilot project which aims to engage a broad public in the study of the middle ages in Spain. You will help us to transcribe one of the earliest manuscripts of the Estoria de Espanna – known by the siglum C, from the Biblioteca Nacional de Espana, Madrid (MS 12837). It is a fourteenth-century manuscript of 148 folios, and as you will see, it is a beautiful example of a medieval codex. The Estoria de Espanna Digital project seeks to transcribe all of the manuscripts of Alfonso el Sabio’s history of Spain, and you can help us understand better the way in which manuscripts relate to each other – how texts were written and rewritten over the years.
Transcribeestoriaes un proyecto piloto que pretende involucrar a un pu;blico amplio en el estudio de la Edad Media en Espanna. Con tu ayuda podremos avanzar en la transcripcion de uno de los primeros testimonios de la Estoria de Espanna, conocido por la sigla C, custodiado en la Biblioteca Nacional de Espanna, Madrid(MS 12837). Se trata de un manuscrito de la primera mitad del siglo XIV, de 148 folios, que, como veras, representa un hermoso ejemplo de codice medieval. El proyecto Estoria de Espanna Digital aspira a transcribir todos los testimonios de la historia de Espanna de Alfonso el Sabio, y tu; puedes ayudarnos a comprender mejor la forma en que los manuscritos se relacionan entre si: como se escribieron y reescribieron los textos con el paso del tiempo.
