La corónica is pleased to announce the 2025 winner of the John K. Walsh Prize, Z. David Zuwiyya, for his article, “Golfines and Tabardíes in Exemplo 20 of El conde Lucanor: Don Juan Manuel’s View of Thirteenth- and Fourteenth-Century Castilian Monetary Privacy.”

This year, La corónica also announced an Honorable Mention, Andrea Pauw, for her article “From Bestselling Book to Confiscated Codex: Dichos o sentencias de los siete sabios de Grecia.”

This award is given annually to the author(s) of an outstanding article published in the previous volume of La corónica. The selection of the recipient of this award is made by the Executive Committee of the MLA Forum, LLC Medieval Iberian in memory of the distinguished hispano-medievalist John K. Walsh (1939-1990). This year, the winner and honorable mention were recognized during a reception at the Modern Languages Association Convention on 10 January 2025.
