Greetings, everyone.
As is usual the weeks after Congress are the time we gather proposals for IMANA sessions for the next Congress.
I am coordinating that process this year, hoping to match the efforts of Matt Desing, Robin Bower, and their predecessors over the years.
I would like to collect four to six session proposals to submit to the organizers. For a proposal, I need:
Title
Organizer(s) – one or more people who will share with me selecting among paper proposals come September
Description/Justification – 100-250 words – something to paste into the relevant box in the submission
Any co-sponsoring organization(s)?
I encourage co-sponsoring — it broadens the pool of attendees and gets us out of our silo. But you know that. Only one co-sponsoring org needs to submit the proposal; they’ll have an opportunity to select co-sponsors from the list, as I recall. It’s just something that needs a little coordination.
I have one proposal in hand. If I get more than six proposals, I’ll bring it to the mediber list.
You can reply directly to me at: tr******@*****st.net and copy jb******@*sc.edu.
An aside — I am a senior administrator (in both senses of the word) and can’t say how long I’ll want to do this, but I’d be happy to coach a younger more active scholar to take this up. You get an awareness of a lot of scholarship, meet nice people, and it’s a little fun.
Thanks,
John A. Bollweg
