We invite proposals for an interdisciplinary panel exploring sex, sexuality, and gender in Medieval Iberia. Long viewed through heteronormative and cisnormative frameworks, this complex cultural space demands renewed critical attention. We seek contributions that interrogate how sex and gender were constructed, performed, regulated, and/or resisted across Iberian communities. Papers may address topics including but not limited to trans and non-binary embodiments; erotic and devotional entanglements; institutional and textual silences; and the policing or subversion of desire. Scholars across disciplines are encouraged to submit proposals that challenge, diversify, and complicate dominant narratives.
